Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale was an American professional basketball athlete playing for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team was selected with the 5th selection overall during the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale was born Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2, 1997 to Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. She has two brothers Mario (26 years young) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Since she was the youngest of her siblings she was the most loved of her parents. Gregory's father was in the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale is from a very active family history. Ogunbowale was a participant for the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship winning Gold medals in both. She was named to the 7th July roster of 2014 and was also named for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team following her initial year at a college. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for launching a series of huge shots during the NCCA Tournament. Though she's still only a freshman, Ogunbowale has earned herself the status of an outstanding basketball player and is certain to continue on her path.
